Empire State Building tickets — FAQ

Should I get the 86th floor or the 102nd floor?

The 86th floor is the classic open-air deck that wraps around the building at 1,050 ft — it's what most visitors book. The 102nd-floor Top Deck is enclosed, higher (1,250 ft), and smaller; add it if you want the highest possible view.

Empire State Building or Top of the Rock?

The Empire State Building puts you on the landmark itself, with its open-air deck and museum. Top of the Rock puts the Empire State Building in your photo. Many visitors do both — and our NYC Icons bundle makes that one checkout.

What time should I book for sunset?

Choose a slot about 45 minutes before sunset — you'll catch the skyline in daylight, the sunset, and the city lights as they come on.

Is there a booking fee?

The venue adds a $5 booking charge per order, and the exact ticket price varies by date. We show the venue's starting "from" price and confirm your exact total at checkout — we never invent a number.

When am I charged?

Your card is authorized as a hold when you book. We capture payment only after we confirm your tickets, and release the hold if we can't.
