Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island tickets — overview

Statue of Liberty tickets — FAQ

What's included with a Statue of Liberty ticket?

Every ticket includes the round-trip ferry on the official Statue City Cruises operator, access to both Liberty Island and Ellis Island, and the audio tours of both. Pedestal and Crown access are reserved separately on the higher tiers.

What's the difference between Reserve, Pedestal, and Crown?

Reserve gives you the ferry and both islands' grounds — you stand right at the base of the statue. Pedestal adds reserved access to climb to the pedestal level (elevator available) for elevated views. Crown adds reserved access to climb the narrow staircase into the crown (ages 4+, minimum height 42"); it books out the earliest.

Where do the ferries leave from?

From Battery Park in Lower Manhattan (NY) or Liberty State Park in Jersey City (NJ). Each ticket is tied to one departure point, so pick the one that suits you.

Is this the official ferry to the islands?

Yes. Statue City Cruises is the only operator authorized by the National Park Service to dock at Liberty Island and Ellis Island. Other harbor sightseeing cruises pass by the statue but cannot land on the islands.

What does it cost, and is there a booking fee?

The official operator's adult Reserve ticket starts at $26; children 4–12 from $17.30, seniors and military from $23, and children 3 and under free. Pedestal and Crown start at $26.30 for adults. Prices and availability are set by the operator and we confirm your exact total at checkout.

When am I charged?

Your card is authorized as a hold when you book. We capture payment only after we confirm your tickets, and release the hold if we can't.
